Welcome to the beautiful Melbourne seaside suburb Williamstown in Victoria, Australia. Approximately 9 km south-west of Melbourne’s central business district in the local government area of the City of Hobsons Bay.

Surrounded by water on three sides, Williamstown is famous for its bustling cafes, trendy restaurants and bars, boutique stores, beautiful history, tree-lined streets and breathtaking views of Melbourne’s city skyline.


Williamstown’s attractive main commercial precinct is located along Ferguson Street and Douglas Parade where you’ll find beautiful boutiques, friendly cafes and stores for all your needs and desires. Around the corner in Nelson Place, you’ll find historic buildings which are now restaurants, hotels and galleries, the beautiful Commonwealth Reserve and a stunning view of Melbourne CBD over the bay.

Williamstown has a charming country feel while still being a stone throw away from the hustle and bustle of the City. Whether you arrive by car, bike, bus or ferry Williamstown will welcome you and make you feel right at home.

Travelling to Williamstown

Destination by Ferry

Ferries leave from Berth 1, Southgate and depart daily at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm. The trip takes approximately 1hr.


Jump onboard the Coastal Flyer and enjoy a scenic ferry ride from St Kilda to Williamstown.

Our vessel Coastal Flyer is now operating a ferry service between Williamstown and St Kilda taking around 20 to 25 minutes per crossing, making it faster and more enjoyable than the car.

Coastal Flyer will be departing Gem Pier Williamstown and from the first lower landing on St Kilda Pier.
At this point in time, we are only operating weekends and selected public holidays.

Yes, we can take bikes, it is advisable to call ahead to book the bikes.

Williamstown to St Kilda – 11am, 1pm, 3pm
St Kilda to Williamstown – 120pm, 2pm, 4pm

Williamstown is approximately 15min from the Melbourne CBD via the West Gate Freeway.

Destination by Train

Williamstown is a 30min train journey from Flinders Street Station and is the last station on the Williamstown Line. Trains stop at three stations in the Williamstown area: North Williamstown, Williamstown Beach and Williamstown.
